Patel tells FBI staff to pause any responses to DOGE e-mail

FBI Director Kash Patel advised staff to carry off on responding to an e-mail, despatched at tech billionaire Elon Musk’s route, asking federal employees to listing their accomplishments all through the former week.

In a memo acquired through NewsNation, Patel mentioned the bureau would deal with long run responses to the Place of job of Staff Control (OPM) inquiries.

“FBI personnel may have received an email from OPM requesting information,” Patel wrote in his message. “The FBI, through the Office of the Director, is in charge of all of our review processes, and will conduct reviews in accordance with FBI procedures.”

“When and if further information is required, we will coordinate the responses,” Patel endured. “For now, please pause any responses.”

Musk — who has led the White Space effort to slash the government — introduced Saturday afternoon on X that federal staff would quickly get an e-mail “requesting to understand what they got done last week.”

“Failure to response will be taken as a resignation,” he added.

The message, reviewed through The Hill, advised federal staff to “please reply to this email with approx. 5 bullet points of what you accomplished last week,” copying their supervisor, through 11:59 p.m. EST Monday.

The FBI isn’t by myself in teaching its group of workers no longer to respond to the e-mail, a minimum of for now.

NBC Information reported that the State Division urged its staff no longer to answer the e-mail.
