President Trump took laps at the Daytona 500 speedway in his motorcade nicknamed “The Beast.”
Trump addressed the drivers earlier than the race, riding within the racetrack’s inner.
“This is your favorite president,” Trump stated. “I’m a big fan. I’m a really big fan of you people. How you do this, I don’t know. But I just want you to be safe.”
“You’re talented people and you’re great people, and great Americans,” he persisted. “Have a good day, and have a lot of fun, and I’ll see you later.”
Trump traveled to his Mar-a-Lago lodge in Palm Seashore, Fla., for the weekend after which went about 200 miles north to the Daytona Global Speedway for the race on Sunday, only a week after attending the Tremendous Bowl in New Orleans.
It was once his first talk over with to the racetrack since 2020, and Air Power One flew overhead.
In 2020, Trump falsely accused Bubba Wallace of a “hoax” involving a noose present in his storage stall. The president lashed out at Wallace and NASCAR, mentioning the verdict to prohibit Accomplice flags from amenities. Trump stated Wallace, the one Black full-time motive force, must express regret over the incident.
Trump shared a video on-line of him saluting all the way through the Nationwide Anthem forward of the race.
“It’s fantastic. It’s great for the country. Our country is doing well again, and we have spirit all over the world,” Trump advised Fox Sports activities from the monitor. “We brought it back, and it’s been less than four weeks.”
