Trump to federal employees: Go back to place of work 'or be terminated'

President Trump on Wednesday warned that federal employees should display as much as the place of work “or be terminated,” framing his management’s so-called buyout gives to two million staff as an effort to shrink the federal government.

“We’re requiring them to show up to work or be terminated,” Trump stated in remarks from the East Room earlier than signing an immigration invoice into regulation. 

“We think a very substantial number of people will not show up to work, and therefore our government will get smaller and more efficient,” Trump added. “And that’s what we’ve been looking to do for many, many decades, frankly.”

The buyouts are to be had to all full-time federal staff, except for army team of workers, U.S. Postal Carrier employees and positions associated with immigration enforcement and nationwide safety.
