Trump suggests federal govt take over DC if native leaders 'can't do the task'

President Trump advised Friday that the government may just take over Washington, D.C., if the nationwide capital’s management “can’t do the task” as he pursues making the District “the debate of the arena.”

“We’re cleaning up our city. We’re cleaning up this great capital, and we’re not going to have crime and we’re not going to stand for crime, and we’re going to take the graffiti down and we’re already taken to tents down there,” Trump stated in a speech on “law and order” on the Division of Justice (DOJ).

“We are operating with the management, and if the management cannot do the task … we are gonna need to take it again and run it via the government,” the president stated of the District’s management.

“But we hope the administration is going to be able — so far, they’ve been doing very well. The mayor has been doing a good job.”

Trump has prior to now raised the speculation of controlling the District, which is ruled by means of a council of elected representatives and a mayor.
