Tony Hinchcliffe, the comic who made more than one debatable jokes at a Trump rally in October, has won a Netflix deal.
“Kill Tony is coming to Netflix. We’re teaming up with Tony Hinchcliffe to turn the world’s #1 live podcast into 3 exclusive comedy specials – with the first premiering April 7,” Netflix’s “Netflix Is a Joke” account at the social platform X posted on Monday.
At a Trump rally in New York Town’s Madison Sq. Lawn closing 12 months, Hinchcliffe delivered jokes geared toward Jewish folks, Black folks and the island of Puerto Rico. Hinchcliffe’s racist feedback in regards to the U.S. territory drew fast backlash from each ends of the political spectrum.
“There’s a lot going on. Like, I don’t know if you know this, but there’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico,” Hinchcliffe mentioned on the rally.
A Trump marketing campaign senior adviser had mentioned that the “joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign.”
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), who’s of Puerto Rican descent, slammed the funny story in a while after Hinchcliffe delivered it.
“And I need people to understand … when you have some a-hole calling Puerto Rico ‘floating garbage,’ know that that’s what they think about you,” she mentioned
Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.) additionally chimed in, pronouncing he used to be “tempted to call Hinchcliffe racist garbage but doing so would be an insult to garbage.”
